Are you interested in participating in a research study for children with
Recurrent Abdominal Pain?

Researchers at the University of Washington and Children’s Hospital are doing a study with children who:

  • Are 7 to 17 years old
  • Have experienced abdominal (stomach) pain at least three times in the past three months that was severe enough to interfere with activities

Interested patients will be screened for medical eligibility prior to enrolling in the study.

Eligible participants will:

  • Receive three treatment sessions at Children’s Hospital (attended by both parent and child) with a trained therapist; these take place over the course of three weeks and are one hour and 15 minutes long
  • Fill out study questionnaires (both parent and child) at five different time points (from the beginning of the study until one year later)
  • Be paid $150 by the end of the study ($100 per parent and $50 per child)

Rona L. Levy, MSW, PhD, MPH, Professor, University of Washington, School of Social Work is the study’s Principal Investigator.
